About benefitcalc.ca
An independent site that turns new Canadian benefit and tax rules into calculators you can use in under a minute.
How each calculator is made
Every calculator is written from the official rule text: CRA guidance, legislation and Finance Canada documents. Before a calculator goes live, its formula is tested against the government's own examples or payment charts. The grocery benefit calculator, for example, matches all 135 amounts in CRA's 2026–27 payment chart.
Each page shows when it was last checked and which period its figures cover. When a rule has been announced but isn't law yet, the page says so.
What this site is not
The calculators give estimates for general information. They aren't tax, legal or immigration advice, and the site isn't affiliated with the Canada Revenue Agency or any government. For your actual amount, check CRA My Account.
